We woke this morning to a beautiful snow-covered farm. Well, who am I kidding – at 3:20 am when I woke to make handsome husband coffee before his flight to Cali it was dark – but we could see the snow outside. Fast forward to 7:30 am and the sun was shining on the sparkling snow. I threw on a coat and some boots to get out and shoot some of it before it began to melt. My hands were frozen, the glare from the sun made it difficult to really capture how serene and beautiful it was, but I wanted to capture it anyway.
I fed the horse and let the chickens out but as you can see, only Bluebell and her feathered feet would venture out the door and even then, she wouldn’t leave her spot of dirt to explore the snow. Too cold!
As handsome husband is away for the day and all of the boys are home on winter break, I have declared it a PJ day. We have no need to leave the farm, I have things to do before our romantic trip this coming weekend to SF, and little bug has a cough that needs tending to. I am going to make our favorite sausage, white bean, and kale soup this afternoon and have some delicious rosemary bread to go with it. We have fresh cookies, hot cocoa in the cupboard, and an online game that all six of us can play together. It really does sound like the perfect respite from all of the running around that we have been doing lately.
Have a cozy Thursday mes amies~

Sounds wonderful, my sweet friend…!!! We are snowed in, too, and are all still in our pj’s, just hanging out… Love it, and will be heading to the kitchen soon to make an almond cake!!! Can’t wait to see you soon!!!

Other than no hubby, the day sounds wonderful. No school for Jake today so we’ve played in the snow and have hot cocoa in the works. Love the days to just hang out!
Hope your little is feeling better soon…
Yes, indeedy! It does sound wonderful over at your farm. The soup is right up my alley. I just love that the hen won’t step outside of that patch of dirt. Awww.
My daughter’s 17th birthday is this weekend. I tell you, I am just so emotional. Her junior year is coming to a close and I just see everything as a step to that darn senior year and that cursed college crossover! She has set the party plans. Basically, NO PARTY! She wants things quiet. So typical. Homemade pizza, bagels, and rice krispy treats. Enjoy your wonderful snow day. Down here in Houston, we declare the occasional snow day just for the heck of it!
Sounds like the perfect day! Your cooking sounds like it will be delicious!
Pajama day and a snow day . . . a winning combo in my book. Enjoy.
Fondly,
Glenda
Hi Kimberly,
Hope you are enjoying your romantic weekend, I just wanted to say that your chickens are so cute, I don’t know why, but lately I have been thinking alot about having chickens, only this appartment does not come with a big garden, so your picture of Bluebell is what I will be staring of when I want to dream about having our own some day.

Beautiful photos…. loved the chickie. And, it sounds like a glorious day.
Warm blessings,

this is what is happening here right now! It’s become silent out there, and that always means there is snow. I love your chicken – what kind is she? I’ve ordered my five – not the biggest selection up here, but it’s a start.
What a perfect day Kim ~ love the shot of Mabel in the snow.. xo
I love PJ day! It’s always a good thing when you don’t have to change at the end ofhte day for bed
Mabel looked so lovely today.

I need to get over here more often:) I have a huge Airstream dream. It involves pulling my kids from school and spending a year somewhere in Hawaii…making memories, pulling the plug, getting back to what matters. That picture of your camper made my heart race.
