We are fully ensconced in Autumn, with all of her crisp mornings, blustery days, warm sweaters and falling leaves. Here on the farm it is a season for roasting- from meats that spend the afternoon in the oven slowly cooking to root vegetables and squash, which all become sweeter with their time in the heat. Some days if feels as if it is a blizzard of falling yellow leaves and the ground is completely covered, save for when I get out there and remove them bit by bit. This morning I woke to a layer of white frost covering the pastures and ice on our roof. It was early enough that the sun wasn’t completely up but I could see a clear sky, which brought me such joy, a lightness of heart that you can only understand if you live in a place where clear skies anytime between now and May are a surprising gift.
I have also been working hard to get my little pop-up ready to share. I am really excited about it. It will be hosted online and I am hoping to be able to go live next weekend. The things in the shop are all things I truly love- things that I keep a number of in our own home. I am looking forward to sharing them with you!
